Dr. Everton Nicholas has been an Endocrinologist at Toronto East General Hospital since 1995.
After graduating from St. Joseph's Academy in 1974, completing his studies in medicine at the University of the
West Indies in Jamaica in 1985, interning at the Princess Margaret Hospital in the Bahamas, he entered the residency programme in internal medicine at the University of Toronto.
From there, he specialized in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of Western Ontario. By 1995, he was certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) to practise internal medicine, endocrinology and metabolism.
In addition to his staff position at Toronto East General, Dr. Nicholas is active in his community, particularly with diabetic education programs, promoting awareness of the disease, along with measures to prevent its complications.
He is affiliated with several professional bodies, including the Endocrine Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association (Clinical and Scientific Section).
His Honours include ACAA Medicine 2001, John H. Fowler Award for Excellence in Teaching, Toronto East General, Family Practice Residents, 2001.
